A pilot knowledgeable British vacationers seagull had hit an plane's engine whereas holding its 'stays' in a plastic bag.
The Thomson flight, which was certain for Tenerife, made an emergency touchdown at London Gatwick Airport this morning after a seagull flew by the engine of the plane because it took off.
Flight TOM6248 had simply left Bournemouth airport at eight.21am when the incident occurred.
Eric Jackson, a passenger, stated the pilot spoke to the passengers about it whereas holding the 'stays of a seagull in a plastic bag'.

He praised the cabin crew through the emergency touchdown.
He stated: 'We did not assume something was mistaken till the captain made an announcement.
'We had been advised in regards to the hen strike and that we'd be diverting to Gatwick as there are higher outfitted engineers there.

A spokesperson from Thomson Airways apologised for the delay induced to passengers on board flight TOM6248 from Bournemouth to Tenerife, based on The Mirror.
She stated: 'The plane has diverted to London Gatwick as a precautionary measure following a suspected hen strike.
'The airplane landed safely and we're working to make it possible for prospects will probably be on their method to Tenerife as quickly as attainable.
'The security of our passengers and crew is of paramount significance and we want to reassure prospects that problems with this nature are very uncommon.'
