The physique of Alasdair McVicar, 19, who disappeared in Scotland, has been recovered from water, police stated as we speak

The physique of a youngster who disappeared after an evening out has been recovered from water, police stated as we speak.

A significant search was launched for Alasdair McVicar, 19, who was final seen at 2.40am on Wednesday in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute, by his pals when he stated he was going house.

Coastguard and mountain rescue groups had been concerned within the search.

Police stated that Mr McVicar's physique was discovered within the Locan space.

Chief Inspector Paul Robertson stated: 'It's with deep remorse that we are able to affirm the restoration of Alasdair's physique and our ideas are along with his household and pals at this very troublesome time.

'Our thanks exit to all companion businesses and members of the general public for his or her efforts and help over the previous two days.' 

Mr McVicar was final seen on the seafront within the city of Dunoon in Argyll and Bute
